Hello there, I'm Jeanette.
Thank you for taking the time to let me inform you about myself. I was raised in the Pacific Northwest and attended High School in Marysville Washington. I spent the next ten years working retail before deciding to come to Maharishi University of Management to study Education. My passion is with the younger age groups. Early Childhood will be my primary study. I grew up in tight nit neighborhoods with a melting pot of age groups. I was approached by parents to babysit their kids for a few dollars at a time. That is when it all started. Through the years I have been a live in nanny and a volunteer with children's museums as well as elementary schools. I finally decided what I wanted to be; a teacher. I hopped a train from Washington to Iowa and am studying to make that dream come true.
My dream is to not only be an educator but to be an educator that makes a change in the students lives by teaching them about the world around them individually. I believe that the students gain more knowledge when they are invested into what they learn. I hope to involve my students in what they do, not just fill their brains with what I want them to think. When it comes to teaching we must "water the root to enjoy the fruit". This means that when you show your students that they can use not only information provided to them but also their imaginations, that they will take that life skill with them through the years. My passion requires me to be a life-long learner, and that is what I also hope to help develop in my students.
